The tag is divided into several parts, as can be seen in the diagram below. This diagram represents a page on which all of the different elements are tracked:

The main tag is required for all pages, and contains custom variables including site custom variables, page variables, population variables, order variables etc. The main tag may vary in appearance depending on the different cases in which it is used, and may also serve as a basis for other specific tags which are used to complement it on certain pages. In addition to these specific tags, other tags such as the plug-in tag, and the ROI tag may be used.
