Plug-in tags can be used to analyse whether or not Internet users accept the following plug-ins in their browsers:
Flash
Acrobat Reader
Real Player
Quicktime
Windows Media Player
Java
Silverlight
The plug-in measurement is divided into 2 files:
xtplug.js: measures the main plug-ins
xtplugar.js: measures Acrobat Reader only
The Acrobat Reader plug-in measurement may, in some cases, display an update pop-up. If you feel that this pop-up might inconvenience your users, you can decide whether or not you want to place the second file, xtplugar.js, on your site. Only use files that will benefit you when you evaluate your needs - this will help improve the volume of traffic visiting your site.
These tags use considerable resources on a user's computer. We do not recommend placing the tags on all of your pages, especially not on important pages such as your home page. Ideally, they should be placed on pages which users are likely to spend more time on, such as form pages.
This tag code must be placed in the HEAD tag of your source code:
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.mysite.com/xtplug.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.mysite.com/xtplugar.js"></script>
